As far as commissions, fan art, and requests go I am relatively open.
Of course I love to see people draw my characters (unfortunately I don’t have any of my Anthros posted) but I like opportunities to draw other peoples too (considering I have all this time to waste before work), and getting paid for that seems like a treat.
Ok so here’s how it breaks down.
I will accept most (if not all) requests, as long as there is little to no background, and I don’t already have too much on my plate. If it gets extremely complicated, takes longer than expected, or requires far too much detail I may push it to the back of the list and work on other things. I need to budget my time.
As far as fan art goes, I am not an avid seeker. Normally I never ask for one, and rarely permission to do one. If someone feels generous and gives me a pic (unasked for) I take it as a complement, and I will return in with a free commission (you’ll see why it’s a commission in a second). I almost never do fan art myself, but will offer birthday presents or gifts for other celebrations (new job, getting married, going to a collage you where dreaming about, signed a cover deal…). If I do take on a fan art it goes to the bottom of my list, sorry about that, but I want to put people who are expecting/paying for art first, as they should be.
And now onto commissions; commissions are greatly appreciated. I charge for the recourses I needed to use (pens, colors, paper), but not the things I needed to buy in order to make your picture. Example- I’m drawing a picture, and run out of colored pencils, I buy a new set. The person is not charged for the new set of pencils, but maybe $0.75 to cover for the pencils I used, the ink, and canvas paper. I also charge for the time and detail. Here is a guessed list of prices (on the high end). And of course digital art is always cheaper due to the fact that it doesn’t physically cost me money to draw a picture.
Digital art commissions-
$1.00 for a simple character line art (cleaned of course, minimal shading $.50 for additional characters)
$2.00 one character colored (add $1.00 for each character, we need to talk if it is more than 6 characters)
$3.00 for an extensive background-anything I would have to spend more than 4 hours on
$5.00 if I have to break, or wave any of the rules listed below.
Traditional art commissions- note, I will send you the original (by mail), after I scan and upload it for your approval.
$0.50 and up for supplies- if you want an oil painting on canvas, you will have to pay much more. But for a simple picture on canvasette (a sturdy paper) probably no more than $1.00
Everything following is on top of the supply charges.
$1.00 for characters inked and softly colored in pencil ($0.50 for additional characters)
$2.00 for full colored characters in pencil ($.50 for additional characters)
$2.50 for full colored characters in paints ($1.00 for additional characters)
$4.00 for an extensive background in either paints or pencils your choice.
Unfortunately I will not break any of the rules listed below for traditional art, because I have to spend a greater time working on it.
You will have to pay all shipping charges on commissions sent to you.
RULES- omg
1.) I do not draw/paint other people’s characters without direct permission from them, either written or verbal. This includes TV characters, videogame heroes/villains, movie stars, and characters belonging to other deviantart or non deviantart members. Unfortunately if your character is based on a character not your own we will have to work out simple changes to its appearance to make it compatible with this rule.
2.) I refuse nudity or adult pictures. Characters with genitals will have them covered by clothing or the like. Absolutely no sex. Body shape is up to me unless otherwise spoken in your description. Of course this does not apply to animals who can be nude if the wish. But the prior will apply, no drawing of genitals or sex.
3.) If you are unsatisfied with the picture, I will redo it. If the fault is through my own I will redo the picture to your liking and wave ALL charges, meaning you get the picture for free. It is not my fault if you did not include something in your description, or changed your mind about something after I was already past the point where I can change it. If you are unsatisfied with the picture through fault of your own, or a poor description. You are given a slightly reduced fee (this is determined through a brief conversation via internet, IM, or email) but will still be responsible for charges.
4.) If you cancel a picture during its making we will talk (through internet, IM or e-mail) and determine what payment is necessary. It is your responsibility to cancel it as soon as possible to insure no unnecessary charges are applied.
5.) You are of course allowed to make changes to your picture. In digital art I will accept them with little to no fee, because digital art is almost painless to change. But in traditional art there might be a fee depending on how much I will need to correct of already existing art. Of course I charge nothing for changes maid prior to the start of a picture, I encourage them.
6.) You may feel free to talk to me about the progress of pictures, but if I feel you are pushing me to finish faster, or if you become overly bothersome I have full authority to cancel your commission and charge you for the art at whatever stage it is in. this being said, do not worry about bothering me, I love to here from you especially concerning art.
7.) You may ask to see your picture in any stage, and I will post it for you as soon as humanly possible. But please ask within reason. I would prefer to spend more time working on finishing your picture than posting updates of it. But, for your convenience I will have verbal updates detailing on how close I assume I am to finishing, these will be renewed as I see fit.
8.) I have authority to refuse any commission. If I feel it is inappropriate, threatening, or unpleasant to myself or others I will not take on a commission. I may also refuse a commission if I have too many on my plate already and feel it may take far to long to get to. If this happens I will give you priority and a discount once you re-submit a commission. If I have posted that commissions are closed this rule does not apply, and you will have to wait until they are open again and pay full price.
9.) We can talk about prices and what you this is and isn’t fair. The prices above are just an estimate and can be brought down if we both agree it is fair.
Any questions?
You may e-mail or note me at any time if you are curious about anything.
In my to do list commissions are always first priority, followed by requests and fanart.
I don’t plan on getting many requests or commissions in the fear future, considering I’m still new on this account. Even though I have had other accounts for longer periods of time.
I may or may not return to these as well, considering I’m trying to raise money for a car and collage. So please consider.
much lovin's
